Episode 2: Navigating Miscarriage and Fitness- Understanding Statistics, the Autonomic Nervous System, Dysregulation, and CrossFit
Today is going to be a hard topic so trigger warning before we get started. In most cases, early podcast episodes usually aren’t about something as hard, however, based on what I’m hearing from my Duality community, miscarriage education surrounding fitness seems to be important.
This episode is not meant to be given as medical advice. It is meant to inform you about miscarriage statistics, what the autonomic nervous system is, why CrossFit may be harsh on your body after a miscarriage, and to give you alternatives.
As a reminder, the majority of early miscarriages happen spontaneously and the most common reason for a miscarriage is chromosomal defects in the embryo. You doing CrossFit is most likely NOT the reason why you had a miscarriage.
